Cheesecake

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 oranges
  • Grand Marnier
  • 4 packages cream cheese, softened (1 pack. = 8 ounces)
  1. In a small bowl, beat the butter, flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1 egg yolk, and the grated peel of one orange, until well mixed.
  2. Shape dough into a ball, refrigerate 1 hour
  3. Preheat oven to 400F (200C).
  4. Press 1/3 of the doughonto the bottom of a roundflexible pan
  5. Bake 8 min, until golden, and let cool
  6. Turn oven control to 475F
  7. In a mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  8. Gradually add the remaining 1 cup sugar
  9. Reduce speed and add 1 egg white and 4 eggs, with the juice of 1 orange, and 2 tablespoons flour
  10. Beat 5min, until well mixed
  11. Press remainging dough around the pan
  12. Pour filling
  13. Bake 12 min, Turn control to 300F and bake 30 min longer
  14. Turn off the oven and let the cake there for 30 min.
  15. Refrigerate at least 6 hours
  16. Right before serving, peel and slice 2 oranges
  17. Put 3 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoon of Grand-Marnier in a pan with the oranges
  18. Cook until the caramel is golden
  19. Serve the cheesecake with the oranges
